David Williams Magezi Vows to Address Uganda’s Political Weaknesses in Presidential Bid
David Williams Magezi, a presidential candidate, has outlined a clear vision to tackle Uganda’s entrenched political challenges during a recent interview on Baba TV. Magezi emphasized the urgent need to confront issues such as corruption, the concentration of power, and the erosion of democratic freedoms that have held the country back for decades.
Speaking passionately, Magezi criticized the long rule of the current leadership, stating that “over 40 years of the same regime have stagnated Uganda’s growth and denied citizens real political choice.” He vowed to restore democratic institutions, enforce term limits, and create a political environment where all voices can be heard.
On the topic of governance, Magezi highlighted the failures in public service delivery, saying, “Too many Ugandans lack access to quality healthcare, education, and infrastructure—basic rights that have been ignored for too long.” He promised to prioritize reforms that improve these essential services.
Corruption, Magezi said, remains a “cancer eating away at Uganda’s future.” He committed to instituting strict anti-corruption measures and enhancing transparency and accountability at all government levels.
